Phone Banking for Bob Lord Begins in Moon Valley

Volunteers Needed

If you have been following Bob Lord's campaign against John Shadegg, you know that the race has become very close and has received national attention. An article in the Arizona Republic cites a recent poll that showed Bob Lord with a one point lead.

To help build on this momentum, phone banking of District 6 voters will begin immediately from a location in the Moon Valley area. Phone calls will be made to voters every evening from 5 pm and weekends from 2-5 pm. Voters will receive information about Bob Lord as well as our three District 6 candidates Jim Larson, Jack Doody and Teri Conrad.

Volunteers should call Birch Faber at 323-440-4049.

Young Democrats Host Candidate Forum
All Three Democratic District 6 Candidates Participate

LD 6's three Democratic candidates took part in the Community Candidate Forum at Mountain Sky Junior High on Wednesday, October 8.  Aimed at giving the communities surrounding Thunderbird High School the opportunity to directly hear from their legislative candidates, all Senate and House candidates from LD 6 and LD 10 were invited to attend.  In LD 6, Democrats Teri Conrad, Jack Doody, and Jim Larson and Republican Sam Crump took part.  Pamela Gorman and Carl Seel did not attend.
Holliday Moore, a former political analyst for ABC 15, moderated the forum and ran it Clean Elections Style.  Audience members posed questions regarding local and state issues that will potentially face the legislature in the upcoming legislative session.  Shadow Rock Congregational Church and students of Thunderbird High School, including members of the Young Democrats Club of the school, sponsored the event.  Mountain Sky Junior High graciously offered the use of the facilities.
With both districts spanning large areas of town, the Community Candidate Forum successfully gave local residents the opportunity to directly hear from their potential representatives.
